Concerned citizens are rallying to support our local farmers and food banks on Saturday, Apr. 19, at 12:30 p.m. The rally will be held at the Green Space adjacent to City Hall in Lewisburg.
We’re coming together to shed light on the dramatic and sudden federal government cuts to our local farms, school food programs, and food pantries. The US Department of Agriculture recently eliminated over one billion dollars that helps sustain our local farms and provides food for our school children. We encourage the community to join us for speakers, music, and information on how you can defend our local farms and food.
This event is also a food drive to help our local food banks and community members who rely on them.
Donations to bring for food pantries: jams/jellies, canned meats, crackers, canned fruit, soup, snacks, paper goods, cleaning supplies, and hygiene products. All donations are appreciated.
