Ronceverte-Sarah Coffman Morris, 86, passed quietly Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020, at The Brier after an extended illness.

She was born Feb. 22, 1933. in Greenbrier County to the late Harold and Marie Richeson Coffman.

She graduated from Greenbrier High School, Class of 1951. Sarah had worked at Barr’s Store in Lewisburg for a number of years. She then worked at Greenbrier Valley Bank, until her retirement after 30 years of service. In retirement, she and Roy enjoyed traveling all across the country with many members of the community. She was a member of Lewisburg United Methodist Church for many years before transferring her membership to Trinity United Methodist Church in Ronceverte. She was active in the United Methodist Women’s Circle, serving in numerous capacities. Her generosity to the church and the larger community will be fondly remembered. She was a Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter # 108, of which she was a member for nearly half a century.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Richard and John; and sister, Hallie Bland.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Roy Morris of Ronceverte; stepdaughters, Angie Morris (Sam Massie) of Ronceverte, and Brenda Austin (Shawn) of Huntersville, NC; stepson, Alan (Karen) Morris of Lewisburg; grandchildren, Tiffany (Chris) Steele of Lewisburg and Ethan (Lauren) Morris also of Lewisburg; a very special great-granddaughter, Rhylee Steele who she loved to spoil; two great-grandsons, Izaak and Elijah Morris; sister, Nellie Tuckwiller of Asbury; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Jan. 4, at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ronceverte. Interment followed at Riverview Cemetery in Ronceverte.

The family received their family and friends Saturday at the funeral home before the service.

In lieu of flowers the family wishes that memorial contributions be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 373 Pocahontas Avenue, Ronceverte, WV 24970.

Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ronceverte is in charge of arrangements.
