Lewisburg-Sallie B. Goodwin, 92, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017, at the Greenbrier Manor in Lewisburg.

Sallie was born July 2, 1925, in Renick, to the late Robert Guy and Addie Caraway Beard.

She was a member of the Lewisburg United Methodist Church. She worked as a Merchandise Manager for the Federal Prison in Alderson for many years where she retired, she was also a volunteer for the Ronceverte Little League concession stand, Greenbrier Band Boosters stand at the West Virginia State Fair, and cooked for the concession stand at the Fairlea Fire Department for Bingo.

Other than her parents, Sallie was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas C. Goodwin; and sisters, Dorothy Hardiman, Nellie Knight, and Emma Hunter Newton.

Survivors include daughters, Marilyn Hylton (Patrick) of Lewisburg, and Lora Ingalsbee (Chuck) of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Tom Hylton (Tammy), Lee Hylton (Valerie), Tara Carter (Chris), and Todd Hibbert Ingalsbee; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 28, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg, where Pastor Ike Hughes officiated. Burial was in Greenbrier Memorial Gardens in Lewisburg.

Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg was in charge of arrangements.
