Lewisburg-Russell Wayne Osborne died peacefully Sunday, March 3, 2019.

He was born Feb. 2, 1949, in Hines, WV. He was a United States Marine and served his country in Vietnam. He was a 6th grade teacher of science and health at Lewisburg Intermediate School in Lewisburg where he greatly impacted many students in a positive way.

Rusty had a great passion for life. He never knew a stranger and was a good friend to many. He always had a kind word and his generosity was limitless. Among his many passions were music and dancing, working on his property, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a lover of earth and a creative soul. Rusty was a natural born philosopher, an avid reader and had rich spiritual life.

His grandson, Daniel Friedman passed away in October 2009.

He is survived by two daughters, Krista Osborne and Dana Osborne; four grandchildren, Logan Friedman, Hope Nash, Keenan Nash and Isaac Sabbag; godson, Gabriel Luciano; and lifelong friend, Lorrie Monte.

Plans for a celebration of Rusty’s life will be shared by family and friends in the near future.

Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg submitted these arrangements.
