Alderson-Roy J. Sauls, 80, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, Mar. 19, 2016, at the Peyton Hospice House in Lewisburg.
Roy was born May 18, 1935, in Tampa, FL, the son of the late Laura Winsted.
He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Fairlea where sang in the church choir, was a Sunday school teacher and Deacon, a U.S. Marine veteran, and past president of the AARP, as well as an active volunteer with Greenbrier Valley Medical Center Seniors and WVSOM and a retired Quality Assurance Specialist for the Defense Department.
Preceding Mr. Sauls in death were a son, Keith J. Sauls and a sister, Mary Stevens.
Those left to cherish his memory are: his wife, Edith M. Sauls; son, Jeffery Alan Sauls and his wife Yolanda of Washington, DC; daughter-in-law, Noemi Sauls of Arlington, VA; and grandchildren, Ruth, Rebecca, Jonathan, Sarah and Abigail.
To help the medical students and the medical profession, Roy donated himself to the WVSOM Human Gift Registry in Lewisburg.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, Mar. 23, with Military Honors at the First Baptist Church in Fairlea where Rev. Dallas Smith officiated. Visitation was held before the service at the church on Wednesday.

Marshall C. Feury
White Sulphur Springs-Marshall C. Feury, 82, passed away on Wednesday, Mar. 16, 2016, at the Bower’s Hospice House in Beckley.
Born Jan. 5, 1934, in White Sulphur Springs, he was a son of the late Lloyd and Elsie Alexander Feury.
Marshall was a member of the Forest Run Holiness Church at Glace. During his working years, he worked as a timberman.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Teddy Elwood Feury.
Surviving are: brothers, Maynard Feury and Lloyd Feury Jr., both of White Sulphur Springs and Jerry Feury of Roanoke, VA; sisters, Shirley Hardiman of Lewisburg and Louise Dunsmore of White Sulphur Springs; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Woody Cox.
Services were conducted Sunday, Mar. 20, in the chapel of Shanklin Funeral Home where Rev. Otis Lewis officiated. Burial was in McCreery Cemetery, White Sulphur Springs.
Visitation was Saturday evening, Mar. 19, at the funeral home.
