Ross S. Perry, 91, of Lewisburg, WV, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 16, 2025, at the Peyton House.
Born Jan. 27, 1934, in Bluff City, TN, he was the son of the late Gleason and Dimple Perry.
He served in the US Army. Following his military service he was employed by B.F. Goodrich as a quality assurance engineer.
During his retirement he worked in golf operations and was a tour guide for the bunker at The Greenbrier Hotel. As his retirement continued, he spent the next 20 years at the Sporting Club which gave him great purpose and camaraderie which kept him active until just months before his passing.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fairlea and an active deacon, trustee and nursery worker. He was a member of the Greenbrier Masonic Lodge #42.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Julia Ann and grandson, Andre Freeman.
Ross left behind his wife, Joann of 70 years; son, Stuart (Rachel) of White Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Ryan Pence (Julie), Rebecca DeHaven (Michael), Caroline Thorne (Eric), Aurionna Taylor (Zebulon), Amara Lewis and Cody Perry; great-grandchildren, Chris Landis, Lyrica Pence, Kaya Pence and 11 others; brother, E.D. Perry (Helen) of Bluff City, TN; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Hooker of Johns Creek, GA.
Service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church of Fairlea with visitation one hour prior to service. Joe Bennett, Rev. Ron Miller and Rev. Stephen Baldwin officiating. Burial will be in Greenbrier Memorial Gardens in Lewisburg with Masonic Rites and Military Rites. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Peyton House or the Anne Edward’s Scholarship fund, 946 Seneca Trail S., Ronceverte, WV 24970.
