Rosa Alice (Ayers) Kast

Rosa Alice (Ayers) Kast, 88, of Alderson peacefully passed away with her family by her side on Wednesday, Apr. 30, 2025, at her home in Alderson. She was born Aug. 3,1936, in Alderson, a daughter of the late Dana Rogers and Violet Virgina (Pence) Ayers.

After graduating from Alderson high school, Rosa went on to work several jobs before starting her career at Signal Hill Memorial Park Cemetery where she became managing director of operations and sales and proudly retiring after many years of service.  Rosa enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.  Her favorite things included collecting coins, gardening, planting flowers, and reading books.  Rosa will be remembered for being a devoted loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be deeply missed.

Rosa is survived by her children Robert Butch Kast and his wife Debbie, of Mathews, VA; her daughters, Violet Robin Hatfield, of Irvington, VA, Sharon Kast, of Alderson, Stephanie Bennett, of Varina, Va, Rebecca Infante and her husband Charles, of Glen Allen, VA, Cindy Payne and her husband Brian, of Mechanicsville, VA, Delores Bergonzi and her husband Chris, of Richmond, VA; her brothers, Sherman Ayers and his wife Carol, of Alderson, Gary Ayers and his wife Linda, of Pulaski, VA, Steve Ayers, of Alderson; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister and four brothers.

Graveside services and burial will be Saturday, May 3, at 1 p.m. in the Alderson Cemetery in the Fletcher Addition with Pastor Randy Burdette officiating.  Friends may call on Friday, May 2, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Lobban Funeral Home in Alderson.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
