Ronceverte River Festival, Great Rubber Ducky Race held this weekend

The 2024 Ronceverte River Festival is this weekend on both Friday, June 14, and Sunday, June 15. The festival features attractions, vendors, live performances, and a variety of fair food. The main event is The Great Rubber Ducky Race which happens on Saturday at 4 p.m. A single ticket can win you one of many prizes awarded, or the grand prize of $5,000. The more tickets you buy means more chances you have to win! Events, games, live music and contests fill the weekend and the festival culminates with a fireworks Display on Saturday night starting at 10 p.m.

Come out and make the 2024 Ronceverte River Festival Parade the best parade ever. Winners for the following categories will receive trophies.

  • Antique/Classic Car: Classic automobiles and trucks more than 20 years old.
  • Street Rod: Vehicles that have been modified. May be new or old cars and trucks.
  • Motorized Miscellaneous: This category is a catch-all. It will include ATVs, motorcycles, and new unmodified cars.
  •   Walking Group/Civic Organization: All groups walking or riding an undecorated vehicle that represent a business, school, team, etc.
  • Fire Truck: We will award this trophy to the Fire Department with the prettiest truck.
  • Horse drawn/Equestrian Adult: This is for riders and carriages over the age of 12.

-Horse drawn/Equestrian Youth: This will be for riders and carriages 12 and under.

  • Tractor/Farm Equipment: If it is used on a farm, it probably goes in this category.
  • Queens: This category is for all the ladies representing Pageants and Festivals throughout West Virginia. We appreciate what you do! (Ronceverte Queens may not compete)

The Winners for the following categories will receive cash prizes:

  • Decorated Bike: Winner will receive $25
  • Float: Entries in this category must be decorated trailers or flatbed trucks. First Place Prize is $300, Second Place is $200, and Third Place is $100.

2024 Ronceverte River Festival Calendar of Events:

Friday, June 14:

5:30 p.m.: Parade lineup begins

7 p.m.: The Grand Parade with Grand Marshal Barbara Morgan

7:30 p.m.: Vendors, inflatables, duck pond, petting zoo, pony rides open

8 p.m.: Caden Glover performs in the amphitheater

8:45 p.m.: Miller Holler Band performs in the amphitheater

Saturday June 15:

Please note that the Ducky Dash Fun Run has been canceled. 

7 a.m.: Fishing Derby begins

8:30 p.m. Car show registration begins

9 a.m.: Lions Club Breakfast begins

10 a.m.: Tahoe Farm Club Car Show; Pet Parade; vendors, inflatables, duck pond, petting zoo, pony rides open; duck coloring contest begins; 103.1 The Bear Give-Away registration

11 a.m.: Children’s games; strawberry shortcake sale begins

11:30 a.m.: Anything With Wheels (no motors) Parade; 3 on 3 basketball tournament

12 p.m.: Irish Road Bowling

12:30 p.m.: Skyler Magic Show

2 p.m.: Lee Dean performs in the amphitheater, live broadcast with Radio Greenbrier

3 p.m.: Duck ticket sales end; Skyler Magic show

4 p.m.: THE GREAT RUBBER DUCKY RACE

5:30 p.m.: Skyler Magic Show

6 p.m.: Duck Hunt; coloring contest ends and voting begins

6:30 p.m.: Shawn Benfield performs in the amphitheater

7:15 p.m.: The Weekend Warriors perform in the amphitheater

8 p.m.: Coloring contest voting ends

8:45 p.m.: Andy Griggs performs in the amphitheater

10 p.m.: Fireworks!
