On Saturday, Sept. 8, the friendly town of Ronceverte promises to be an enjoyable place to be for all. Starting at 8 a.m. Edgar Avenue will be filled with crafters, artisans, wonderful food and games for the kids.

Music, crafts, delicious food, children’s games and an atmosphere of days past will fill the air. Come out and enjoy live music starting with Jim Snyder at 11 a.m., next is the Dem Picketts with Nathan Seldomridge and Dan Freeman from noon to 2 p.m. Afterwards will be the Sugar Run Band from 2 to 4 p.m., followed by the Strum Some Band from 4 to 6 p.m. Closing this exciting day is the Half Bad Bluegrass Band from 6 to 9 p.m., so bring a chair and enjoy!

Events during the day include the Steve Cooke Memorial Rally starting at 2 p.m. with a golf cart parade, the Memorial Bicycle Ride at 2:30 p.m., the Elimination Drawing starts  at 3 p.m., and at 5 p.m. the drawing for the last 10 tickets and Tour de Tricycle to determine the winners.

Be sure to visit The Ronceverte Museum run by our resident historians. Take a stroll down to the armory where there is cake being served by the American Legion in celebration of their 99th birthday of the signing of the charter. At 11 a.m. there will be the grand opening ceremony of the Ronceverte Library with a dedication, be sure to buy a book when you are there. With gratitude, on display will be the West Virginia Vietnam Memorial Wall, also at the Armory. The local flea market will be operating on the Edgar Ave side of town!

Hungry?  Enjoy local food favorites Rudy’s Restaurant and the Edgarton Café, while strolling about the crafters be sure to sample a steak sandwich prepared by the John Wesley United Methodist Church. The Sportsman Tavern will be sponsoring a Beer Garden.

Enjoy a corn hole game for fun, the kids can enjoy the bounce house and get a sno-cone close by
