Alderson-Roger Dale Brown. 57, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown following a long illness.
Mr. Brown was born Mar. 9, 1956, in Blue Sulphur Springs, the son of the late Orve1 H. and Annie L. Martin Brown.
Roger Dale was of the Baptist faith, he was a construction worker and tree trimmer.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Rebecca Brown and a nephew, Bobby Hayes Brown.
Surviving are: his companion of 33 years, Vivian Wolfe; son, Roger Adkins of Alderson; stepsons, Willie and Jack Wolfe of Maryland; granddaughter, Aryianna Adkins; sisters, Virgie Fry of Alderson, Barbara Martin (Donald) of Alderson and Mary Hurley (special brother-in-law, Thomas) of Ronceverte; brothers, Alvin Brown, Johnny Brown, Roy Brown (LeDonna), Jimmy Brown, James Brown, Silas Brown and Frank Brown all of Alderson; special nieces and nephew who knew him as “PaPaw,” Lee Hurley, Orvel Hurley, Abby Hurley, Mary Beth Hurley and Jacob Hurley and several other nieces and nephews; and his dog, “Cracker Jack.”
Funeral services will be on Friday, Jan. 24 at 1 p.m. at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ronceverte with Pastor Youel Altizer officiating.
Interment will follow in Asbury Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive their friends from 11 a.m. until time of services on Friday.
The family suggest that memorial contributions be made to Wallace & Wallace, 502 Monroe Avenue, Ronceverte, WV 24970 to help with his funeral expenses.
Pallbearers for Roger Dale will be: Noel Adkins, Bruce Martin, Jeff Martin, Robert Perry, Justin Bradley, Roy Brown, Lee Hurley and Orvel Hurley.
