Rodney Gregg Lester

Clayton-Rodney Gregg Lester, 55, formerly of Fairfax, VA, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013, at Charleston Area Medical Center-Memorial Division, Charleston, from a massive stroke following open heart surgery.
Born Oct. 11, 1957, in Pineville, he was the son of Madeline Gertrude Lester-Bennett of Clayton and the late Rodney Lee Lester.
In addition to his father, he was preceded is death by a sister, Pamela Sue Weese; and two brothers, Dennis Ray Cooper and Michael Warren Cooper.
Mr. Lester was an electrician and a 1976 graduate of Fairfax High School; Fairfax, VA. He enjoyed Harley Davidsons, watching NASCAR and football, playing softball, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include: son, Jeremy Lee Lester and his wife Kristen Marie Lester of Fairfax, VA; daughter, Betsy Elaine Bennett of Gainesville, VA; his mother, Madeline Gertrude Lester-Bennett of Clayton; sister, Janet Sue Clifton of Henderson, CO; four grandchildren, Jordan Marie Lester, Taylor Elaine Lester and Rodney James Lester all of Fairfax, VA, and Luke Ernest Bennett of Gainesville, VA; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Aug. 10 at 2 p.m. at Lobban Funeral Home Chapel, Alderson, with Pastor Nicholas Mudrezow officiating.
Burial will follow at the Lester Farm Memorial, Clayton.
Friends may call Saturday, Aug. 10, from 1 to 2 p.m., at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Joshua Weese, Karl Koenig, James Cooper, Ernest Bennett, Jerry Lee Hendricks and Joe Plumley.
