Rodney “Rod” D. Morgan won his 10+ year battle with cancer Mar. 15, 2024, with his family by his side!
He was born Feb. 25, 1954, in Ronceverte, the son of the late Clayton and Vernie Morgan. He is preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Morgan; brother-in-law, Robert Bradley; beloved in-laws, Bill and Mary Jo Dixon; and best four-legged friend, Kip.
Rodney graduated from Greenbrier East High School in the class of 1972. He received an Associate Degree in Business from West Virginia Tech. He worked at Kroger for 39 years. He was an avid golfer and loved to hunt and fish. He loved coaching his girls’ softball teams throughout their years. He was a huge WVU Sports fan and loved nothing more than sitting on the beach soaking up the sun watching his grandkids play.
Survivors include his wife Ginger; daughters Kinsey (Eric Schroder) and Kourtney Morgan; grandchildren Amelia and Ben Wiley, and Josie Morgan Schroder; grand-dogs Gus and Wrigley; sister Charlotte Bradley and special nephew Dale Bradley; brother-in-law Michael Dixon (Susan); sister-in-law Brenda Gabbert; nephews Kevin and Brian Bradley, Trent and Aaron Gabbert, and Neil and Scott Dixon; nieces Angela McMann and Lindsey Flach along with their families. A gathering of friends will be 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, Mar. 22, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg.
