Carnegie Hall invites the public to an evening with Robin and Linda Williams on Friday, Apr. 13, at 7:30 p.m.
For more than four decades Robin and Linda Williams have made it their mission to perform the music that they love – a robust blend of bluegrass, folk, old-time, and acoustic country that combines wryly observant lyrics with a wide-ranging melodicism. As The Washington Post put it, “The Williamses are able to sum up a life in a few details with moving completeness.” The list of artists who have covered their original songs include Emmylou Harris, Tom T. Hall, George Hamilton IV, Tim and Mollie O’Brien, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Kathy Mattea, and The Seldom Scene.
The Mainstage Lounge host for this performance is Country Road Realty. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Tickets to the performance are $30, and discounts are available for Carnegie Hall members, students, senior citizens, and military. To purchase tickets, please call 304-645-7917, visit www.carnegiehallwv.org, or visit the Carnegie Hall auditorium box office at 611 Church Street, Lewisburg, WV.
The Williamses will also present a songwriting workshop on Saturday, Apr. 14, at 10 a.m. as part of Carnegie Hall’s “The Craft of the Song” workshop series. Tickets to the workshop are $30, and discounts are available to members.
This engagement of Robin and Linda Williams is made possible through the Special Presenters Initiative program of Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation with support from the National Endowment for the Arts and the WV Division of Culture and History, with approval from the WV Commission on the Arts.
