Collingswood, NJ-Robert M. Thompson, 33, passed away suddenly on Friday, July 31, 2020.

Robert was the doting father of baby Madison Lynn who completed his life, and the beloved partner of Jessica Ripp. Devoted son of Linda DiMattia and G. Robert Thompson (Mary), dear brother of Alissa Thompson, and uncle of Makenna, Chaeden and Raef. Robert had close relationships with his aunts, uncles and many cousins of all ages and was fiercely loyal to all those he loved.

Born and raised in Lewisburg, WV, Robbie attended the University of Colorado at Boulder, then became a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, graduating with a Business/Marketing Degree from Florida Atlantic University.  While working to establish himself in the field of finance, he was employed in the hospitality industry. He had a passion for snowboarding, skateboarding and the beach. He loved animals and looked forward to having his own French Bulldog.  Known for his quick wit, infectious smile, and a kind and compassionate spirit, Robbie was at his best when he was debating an idea or making a point, loving to argue and be right. He had a sense of style even when working out. Interested in history, travel and Italian culture, Italian cooking was a passion he indulged in, having learned the secrets of many great cooks, especially from his grandmother, Elizabeth DiMattia.  He will be missed by many.

A memorial will be held at a later date in Lewisburg.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Madison Lynn Thompson Education Fund care of Linda D. Thompson, 492 Holt Lane, Lewisburg, WV 24901/ Venmo – Linda Thompson, or to the Atlantic County Sheriff Foundation, 132 Bonita Dr., Egg Harbor Township, NJ 08234.
