Lewisburg-Robert “Bob” Lee Davis, 70, peacefully gained his wings Thursday, Mar. 2, 2017, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, surrounded by his loved ones.

Bob was born July 12, 1946, in Lewisburg, to the late William “Bill’’ Irvin Davis and still living Hilda “Nan” Marie McCoy Davis.

Bob had a long list of accomplishments, beginning with graduating high school in 1965, then a four year enlistment in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a Line Designer for VEPCO, WV Power and lastly known as Alleghany Power when he retired after 42 years. He was a dedicated former member of the Elks Lodge where he had served as a Past Exalted Ruler, Past District Deputy and Trustee. He was a member of the Ace Hunt Club, and the NTL Wild Turkey Federation Local Jakes.

Bob was an avid golfer, leading him to win the State Elks Tournament for three years in a row and the State Senior Elk Tournament five time champion. He loved to turkey and deer hunt.

Left to cherish his precious memory, Bob is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Teresa Morgan Davis; mother, Hilda Davis of Lewisburg; daughters, Roberta “Bobbi” Arnold and husband Beezle of White Sulphur Springs and Sheri Wilson and husband Bobby of White Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Andrew “Dude’’ Arnold, Jennifer (Josh) Carter, Christopher Arnold, Justin Knapp, Sierra and Cameron Farley; great-grandchildren, Kylie and Kynlee Carter, Grayson Knapp and twin unborn great-granddaughters; brother, Larry Davis of Clintonville; and lastly but certainly not least, Carolyn and Misty Boone, special family friends; and nieces, Gretchen and Katie Ervin.

A funeral service was held Tuesday, Mar. 7, at the Lewisburg Baptist Church where Pastor Chris VanNatter, Pastor Romie Comer and Pastor Daryl Bonifacius officiated. Burial was in the Salem Cemetery at Organ Cave.

The family invited friends to gather Monday evening, Mar. 6, to honor and share memories of Bob at the Lewisburg Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers you may make donations of sympathy to the Building Fund at lewisburgbaptistministries.com, 246 Grand Avenue Lewisburg, WV 24901.
