Come celebrate West Virginia’s Birthday and the first day of summer in Alderson next to the Greenbrier River. The Party is set for Saturday, June 21, 5:30-8:30 p.m. with music by the Strum Sum Band.
Bob Du Charme says of the group, “We settled in as an eclectic group of four neighbors who played songs they liked, mostly covers, with interpretations sounding like the original artists but with our own “back porch” twist.” The twist is that even rock music has a bit of a country/blue grass sound. Imagine “Hotel California” on a banjo and you get the idea! Bob (banjo) is joined by Mike Reed (mandolin, guitar), Tom Hefner (12-string guitar) and George Piasecki (bass).
Come to the Alumni Park Gazebo on the Monroe County side. A food vendor will be there and free Birthday Cake courtesy of Alderson Main Street. Bring a chair, friends and your dancing feet. Experience some place different.
