Remember When Community Fair set next weekend in Williamsburg

The 75th Williamsburg Community Fair, Remember When, will be held on July 26 and 27 with a slew of activities, exhibits, music, and a parade. There will be cruise-in vehicles on display, a bouncy house, crafts, dunk tank, games, door prizes, health screenings, and a raffle. Fireworks finish out the festivities on Saturday, July 27 at 9:30 p.m.

This event is sponsored by the Williamsburg Community Action Group, the Williamsburg Ruritan Club, and the Williamsburg Volunteer Fire Department. Proceeds benefit community projects. Thursday, July 25:

6-8 p.m.: Bring in exhibits (categories are online)

 

Friday, July 26:

5-8 p.m.: View exhibits

5-8 p.m.: Hot dogs, BBQ, brown beans, and cornbread

5:30-7:30 p.m.: Bingo with cash prizes, in the rescue squad. Bring dauber or purchase for $1

7:30 ‘til done: We’ve Got Talent – $200, $100, and $50 winners. Register by Monday, July 22, by texting 304-667-9288

 

Saturday, July 27:

8 a.m.-1:30 p.m.: View exhibits

8 a.m.-9:30 a.m.: Breakfast with burritos, biscuits and gravy, eggs, and more

9 a.m.-12 noon: Thrift Shop open, $1 bag sale (old schoolhouse)

8-9:45 a.m.: Parade Registration and lineup alongside the firehouse, judging by 10 a.m.

10 a.m.: Flag raising ceremony

10:30 a.m.: Parade, starting at the Community Building and to the Methodist Church and back. Helmets required for ages 16 and under on self or motor-propelled vehicles. Parade participant lunch with special ticket is until 12:30 p.m. at the Firehouse

11 a.m.-2 p.m.: Lunch concessions, all beef hot dogs, hamburgers, BBQ, and more

11 a.m.-afternoon: Outdoor Sweets, drinks, cotton candy, Dippin’ Dots, snowcones, popcorn, and desserts

12-2 p.m.: Demonstrations of smithery, chair caning, leatherwork, and more

12:45 p.m.: Tournament registration behind basketball court, $10 per team

1 p.m.: Horseshoe and Cornhole Tournaments. Intermission from 2:30 to 4 p.m.

12:30-1:15 p.m.: Entertainment Under the Tent: John 3:16 Crossroads

1:30-2:30 p.m.: Entertainment Under the Tent: Midland Trail Band

2:30-4 p.m.: Organized games of earlier years, for all ages, bring chairs for viewing comfort

4 p.m.: Fire Truck Splash

4-6 p.m.: Bingo with cash prizes in the Firehouse. Bring dauber or purchase for $1

4-7 p.m.: Spaghetti Dinner with garlic bread, salad, dessert, and beverage. Adults are $10, children under age 12 are $5, and children under age 5 eat free

7-9 p.m.: Greener Pastures Dance Concert, bring your own chairs

9:30 p.m.: Fireworks
