Ronceverte-Rebekah Marie “Granny” Waite, 76, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 24, 2016, in her home.
She was born June 20, 1940, in Warm Springs, WV, to the late Ralph James Puffenbarger and Rebekah Englith Jackson.
Marie was a proud member of the Rhema Christian Church of Fairlea. She was a nursing assistant for the Shenandoah Manor where she retired. After retirement, her work did not come to a halt, everyone knew her for warm and loving ways in the community.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Puffenbarger; first husband, Carlos Camron Crawford; and second husband, Winston C. Waite.
Marie is survived by daughters, Brenda Marie Shifflett and husband Leonard, Sherry Crawford, Bonnie Hale and companion Hank and Shelia Lufton and husband Denis; sons, Rodney Camron Crawford and Butch Crawford and wife Lisa; brothers, Terry and wife Linda, Ralph, David and wife Audrey, Larry and Donald; grandchildren, Tiffany Chapman, Kelly Cooper, Christopher Crawford, Christina Crawford, Jeremy Shifflett, Stephanie Johnson, James Crawford, Jazmine Marshall, Brittini Hale and Victor Slate; great-grandchildren, Mikah Crawford, Janiya, Taviona, Luci Chapman, Wyatt Cooper, Olivia Cooper and Lyric Wittington; and many friends, Youlonda, Johnny, Mike, Keith, Mandy, Allen, Amber, Melissa an Dawg.
A graveside service will be held Friday, Aug. 5, at 1 p.m. at Riverview Cemetery with Pastor Stewart Farley officiating.
