Free Class: Open to the general public Thursday April 17, 2014 from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Robert C. Byrd Clinic, 400 N. Jefferson St., Lewisburg, WV

You must register by April 15th by Calling Karen Larson at 304-799-6112

or Karen Jones; Care Coordinator Robert C. Byrd Clinic 304-645-3220. ext 1910

Tobacco use is the leading cause of preventable death in America. It is a complicated addiction and many tobacco users, about 70%, would like to quit but feel they can not. Are you one of them? You are invited to attend a FREE workshop to aid tobacco users on strategies to quit. You “CAN” quit! Let us help you develop your own quit plan!

Karen Larson, a Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist and the Regional Tobacco Prevention Coordinator for Pocahontas, Fayette, Greenbrier, Webster, and Nicholas counties will be teaching the class. Participants will receive information for free resources like nicotine replacement therapy patches or gum. You will also learn strategies on how to quit successfully.

A free meal, prizes, and survival kit will be provided.

You will be taking a step towards a healthier life. If, for example, you are a 2 pack-a-day smoker, then you will be saving about $10 a day or about $300 a month to help yourself and your family. We hope to see you there.

This effort is made possible by a grant from the WV Division of Tobacco Prevention.
