Maxwelton-Ralph Herman Ray, 96, passed away Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019, at his home.
Born Nov. 13, 1922, at Anthony, he was the son of the late James Alfred and Georgia Mae Spence Ray.

Ralph was a U.S. Army Air Force, World War II veteran. He was a member of Enon Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and was a former Sunday School Teacher. Ralph was a long-time member of the American Legion and the Greenbrier County Republican Club. He was also a founding member of the Grace Baptist Temple in St. Albans.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years, Mary Madeline Hudson Ray; sisters, Betty June Ray, Wanda Louise Vest and Peggy Sue Pickett; and brother, James Alfred Ray II.

Survivors include his four daughters, Valerie Ray Lyons (Wayne) of Clendenin, Angela Ray of Frankford, Verna Ray Breaux (Dan) of Wimberley, TX and Anita Ray Kirk (Jim) of Culloden; brother-in-law, whom he raised as a son, Lester Gene Hudson (Judy) of Gilbert, AZ; grandchildren, Greg, Erin, Alegra and Travis; great-grandchildren, Celia, Andy, Kade and Bryn; and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral service was held on Saturday, Aug. 10, at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel, Lewisburg, where Pastor Steve Barnette officiated. Burial was in Rosewood Cemetery.
Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers donations should be made to the Enon Baptist Church, 1440 Frankford Road, Frankford, WV 24938.
