Rainelle Litter Sweep, Make It Shine cleanup underway

The West Virginia Make It Shine Program is a comprehensive program aimed at making West Virginia the cleanest state in the nation. Rainelle Mayor Andrea Pendleton (left) and Charles Allen, a patron of Tri County Furniture in Rainelle, are shown handing out REAP bags for picking up litter on the streets to promote the statewide litter sweep program, urging businesses, community organizations, and local governments to accomplish the goal. In Rainelle, the annual event dates are as follows: Rainelle Litter Sweep, Apr. 12 through Apr. 19. Rainelle Volunteer Make It Shine Day, Apr. 18 - meet at Rainelle Town Hall at 8:30 a.m. Volunteers are needed to make this effort a success.
