Ten members of the Progressive CEOS met at the Lewisburg Methodist Church for their September meeting with Betty Jo McNeel as hostess.
Patty Gray opened the meeting by thanking everyone for coming and Betty Jo for being hostess. Her news item from the past was that on Aug. 31, 1997, Princess Diana had died. Kitty Loudermilk gave the Motivator’s Tip for the month. She said that postmenopausal women can lose 1-2 percent of their bone mass each year. They need to do physical training at least two to three times a week and rest one day.
Our club makes donations to the Food Locker at different times a year and the Treasurer announced that we had given $310 so far for this year.
Patty read a thank you note from the Family Refuge Center thanking us for all of the items we sent them last month. They were so appreciative because they really needed several of the items we donated.
Patty Gray mentioned some things needed for the Leadership Day meeting at the WVU Building on the fairgrounds. Chris Gowings will bring a salad, Patty Gray a breakfast item and Colleen Walton and Barbara Shiley will both bring door prizes.
Mary Liz Richmond said she had taken a fruit basket to Betty Rutherford who is still recuperating at home. After the business part of the meeting, we worked on the scrapbook. The club voted to go back to having a scrapbook. Betty Jo McNeel had kept articles and pictures in files. It was a fun time working on it. Betty had delicious refreshments waiting on us when we finished.
Everyone enjoyed a time of fellowship and food.
The next meeting will be with Kitty Loudermilk and the program will be on Mediterranean cooking. Copies of several recipes were available for all who wanted them.
