Summersville, consider yourselves infected.
The Plague brought the sickness to the Summersville Youth Soccer League Shootout last Saturday, Oct. 29, when the Northern Greenbrier Youth Soccer League (NYGSL) team defeated all boys/co-ed teams in their age group.
The Plague, an NYGSL team of 11 boys and one girl, defeated four teams in the boys’/co-ed U10 (under 10-years-old) division during the day-long tournament.
They defeated the Summersville Youth Soccer League Warriors in their first game, and then took on the Clarksburg Titans, defeating them and then advancing to the semi-finals, where they bested the Bridgeport Bulls.
The final championship match brought The Plague back against the Clarksburg Titans, where they defeated Clarksburg again, becoming the U10 Boys Champions.
Following their victory, the team received a championship plaque and each team member received a medal.
The Plague will play in the Kohl’s Cup soccer tournament in Barboursville on Nov. 12 and 13.
