Phyllis Jean Freeman Persinger

 White Sulphur Springs-Phyllis Jean Freeman Persinger, 87, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2019, at Lewis-Gale Allegheny Regional Hospital in Low Moor, VA.

She was born Sept. 22, 1931, in Caldwell, the daughter of the late William Shelby and Vera Bennett Freeman.

Phyllis was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church and was retired from the photography shop at The Greenbrier Hotel.

Preceding Mrs. Persinger in death other than her parents were her husband, George “Perk” Persinger; sister, Sally Surber; and brother, William Freeman.

Surviving are her children, Lynne Persinger (Jeff McKinney) of Bluffton. SC and Debra Davis (Wes) of Brevard, NC; granddaughter, Meghan Davis of Charleston; and several nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Phyllis’ wishes she will be cremated with no services scheduled.

In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to the Greenbrier County Humane Society, 151 Holliday Lane (P.O. Box 926), Lewisburg, WV 24901.

Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in White Sulphur Springs is in charge of arrangements.
