White Sulphur Springs– Phyllis J. Erwin, 79, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018, at Peyton Hospice House in Lewisburg.

She was born Apr. 27, 1939, in White Sulphur Springs, the daughter of the late Paul B. and India Sullivan Harper, Sr.

Phyllis was of the Methodist faith and had spent her working years in Massachusetts.

Preceding her in death other than her parents were her husband, Julian L. Erwin; sisters, Betty Holcomb and Barbara J. Harper; and brothers, William “Billy” Harper and Paul “Pete’’ Harper.

Surviving are her brother, Richard M. Harper, Sr. of White Sulphur Springs; several nephews and nieces; and her second family in Massachusetts.

Per Phyllis’ wishes she was cremated and a joint graveside service was held for her and her husband Julian Tuesday Sept. 4, at Hillcrest Cemetery in White Sulphur Springs where Pastor Shari Stilgenbauer officiated.

Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in White Sulphur Springs is in charge of arrangements.
