Lewisburg-Paul Kemble “P.K,” Legg, 88, passed away Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015, at Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea.
Born May 17, 1927, in Lewisburg, he was the only child of the late Paul R. and Elizabeth Monroe Legg.
Mr. Legg was a 1945 graduate of Lewisburg High School, attended Greenbrier Military School, and served in the U.S. Navy stationed in Guam during WWII.
He retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways after 30 years of service and formerly served on the Greenbrier Public Service District #1 Board of Commissioners and the City of Lewisburg Planning Commission. He was a member of the Clifton Presbyterian Church at Maxwelton and was a previous long standing member of the Old Stone Presbyterian Church in Lewisburg.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Legg was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Noble Clay Legg.
Survivors include: son, Kemble Clay Legg of Lewisburg; daughter, Paula Legg Baisden of Maxwelton; two grandchildren, Kelly Burkholder (Lonnie) of Lebanon, PA and Kathryn (Katy) Baisden of Beckley; three great-grandchildren, Ben McElroy, Hannah McElroy, and Brooklyn Burkholder, all of Lebanon, PA.
Graveside services are slated for Friday, Nov. 6 at 11 a.m. at Rosewood Cemetery in Lewisburg with Rev. Janice Fraser officiating.
The family received friends Thursday evening, Nov. 5, at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg.
