You can make a difference while having fun during Christina Edwards’ Pickleball Fundraiser for United Way of Greenbrier Valley! Slated for Saturday, Oct. 7, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Hollowell Park in Lewisburg (near WVSOM), come out to enjoy a fun morning while supporting a great cause! This is an all-ages and all skill level event (folks new to the game are welcome and encouraged!). Cost is $50 per player. Visit https://tinyurl.com/529fjp98 to sign up.

Did you know? Pickleball is a great way to foster your mental, emotional, and physical fitness. It is similar to tennis but easier to learn and more fun to play. And if you ask Christina Edwards… it’s the sport EVERYONE’S talking about!

The event includes on-site instruction, Pickleball camp, and lots of fun for the whole family and/or your friends!

If you don’t have a paddle, we suggest you check out pickleballcentral.com for a nice beginner set. Starting price is $24.99/set. Paddles will also be available to use on site!

The best part is that all proceeds from this event go directly toward United Way of Greenbrier Valley! This organization helps to support 32 non-profits in Pocahontas, Greenbrier, and Monroe Counties. Some of their community partners include the Child Youth and Advocacy Center (CYAC), Davis Stuart, Family Refuge Center, Carnegie Hall, Greenbrier Valley Theatre, Monroe Day Care Center, Gateway Industries, Greenbrier County Committee on Aging and so many more. See the entire list at unitedwaygreenbrier.org/community-partners. They go above and beyond for our community by providing a wide range of resources and services through 2-1-1 calls. Folks receive expert care regarding food, heath care, housing, utility payment assistance, veteran services, childcare, employment services, disaster assistance, and more.

United Way GBV’s focus is on education, health, and financial stability – the building blocks for a good quality of life. Christina Edwards has been named a 2023 Young Leader for United Way and is proud of the work they are doing in our community. By participating in this pickleball camp, you will help those in need and LIVE UNITED!

Christina Edwards is a first generation American and moved to West Virginia in 2008. Christina and her family reside in Monroe County and she is an agent with New York Insurance Company. Her daily mission is to help people with their retirement goals and needs. She is passionate about educating children, families, and business owners about financial literacy and solutions as well as “planned giving” because no donation is too big or too small for your favorite non-profit. Christina’s husband is an active Shriner and partner/owner of Appalachian Stave WV that supplies wood to WVGBC which currently employs 100+ people in our region. LIVE UNITED!!

For additional information about this event, please email Christina at christinae@ft.newyorklife.com or call her directly at 304-647-8253 or reach out to gvpickleball304@gmail.com.
