Pamela Gatens will host a Splashy Watercolor Florals Workshop at the WV Fine Arts Gallery in downtown Lewisburg.

On Monday, Sept. 24, Pamela Gatens will host a watercolor workshop from 10 a.m. to 3 or 4 p.m. The Splashy Watercolor Florals class will be held at the WV Fine Arts Gallery in Lewisburg, conveniently located next to the GVT Theatre on Washington Street.

Pamela Gatens is a painter of florals, cats and abstracts – all colorful, all loosely executed. She takes a problem solving attitude toward her medium that helps every painter. During this 4-hour workshop, color mixing with a limited palette, loose brushwork and composition tips will be explored.

There will be a (gentle, but eye-opening) critique at the end of the workshop of each participants’ work.

Paints and paper will be provided, but if you would like to bring your own, that is quite welcome. Please bring your favorite brushes – preferably rounds and flats for watercolor, along with any other watercolor gear you regularly use. We suggest a bag lunch for an in-house half hour break.

There is a $45 charge (plus tax) for this class. Limited to ten participants. Beginners through advanced watercolorists can learn from this course. Workshop notes and floral layouts will be handed out for later study and practice.

Hope to see you there! Any questions/comments, please contact the gallery at 304-667-0320, or contact Pamela Gatens directly via FaceBook or at 304-653-4510.
