Liberty Christian School, a ministry of Greenbrier Valley Church of the Nazarene, will host an Open House Sunday, Aug. 18 from 5:30 until 8 p.m. This time frame includes the usual Sunday Evening service time at 6 p.m. This service will include a video introduction the individualized curriculum and program developed by Accelerated Christian Education (ACE).
Liberty Christian School has roots going back to 1975, and was one of the first schools in West Virginia using the ACE program. The Administrator, David Hersman, and his wife Crystal have nearly 40 years of experience in Christian Education. They helped train and establish schools using the ACE program during the seven years they have spent in Papua New Guinea. Their daughter, Rachel, is now administrator of Eagles’ Wings Christian Academy in Papua New Guinea.
Liberty Christian School operates from the premise that God created each child with a specific plan and purpose. Education is preparation to do God’s will. LCS offers an alternative to modern secular education with emphasis on truth, individualization, preparation to fulfill God’s plan, the study of science, history, economics, and morality from God’s point of view. The ACE program is mastery-based, assuring maximum academic achievement. It is a proven program used by about 1.2 million students in 145 countries.
Everyone is invited to the Open House. Parents, grandparents, or anyone with an interest in the training of children and young people would benefit from this event. Attending does not obligate you in any way. The church (and school) are located on Dawkins Drive, just off David-Stuart Road about a half mile south of the hospital at Lewisburg (Fairlea). For more information call David Hersman at 304-392-2035, or 304-661-2534.
