A new series of nutrition classes called “Health Yeah!” are set to begin Sept. 8 at Robert C. Byrd Clinic in Lewisburg.
Dr. Dina Schaper, D.O. of Robert C. Byrd Clinic is teaming with the Pax and the Integrated Medicine Clubs at WVSOM to offer free nutrition classes that will focus on healthy, affordable food choices that will improve your health. The class will also strive to remove the barriers people possess that prevent them from eating a healthy diet.
The Health Yeah Program includes monthly classes where participants will have the opportunity to engage in interactive nutrition lessons, food demonstrations and recipe tastings. One-on-one nutritional support will be provided by second-year WVSOM students to each participant. This unique, individualized approach will motivate, guide and support the participants to reach sustainable nutritional goals by offering creative solutions and ideas.
The classes will be held the first Tuesdays of each month from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Robert C. Byrd Clinic, beginning Sept. 8. Each week, the participants will receive healthy recipes, ideas and practical information to implement at home.
