New River Community and Technical College’s Greenbrier Valley Campus will host a Basic Upholstery community education class on Thursday evenings, starting on Sept. 3.
During a series of five classes, students will learn the tools, materials, and processes of basic upholstery. Students are encouraged to bring a project to the class. The instructor will devote individual attention to those enrolled, advising on progress throughout the course.
The class will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursdays from Sept. 3 through Oct. 1 at New River CTC’s Lee Street Complex, Building D, in Lewisburg. The cost is $150. The instructor is Marsha Griffith.
Griffith has years of experience in custom interior design and furniture design. She has altered wedding dresses, designed and fabricated tour buses, auto interiors, floats, and parade costumes.
Please register by Aug. 25 by contacting Sandra Wilmer at swilmer@newriver.edu or 304-793-3001 or Gloria Kincaid at gkincaid@newriver.edu or 304-793-6101.
Also, New River CTC is recruiting new instructors for community and workforce education courses in Lewisburg and Summersville. If you have a talent or skill that you would like to share with others, please contact Gloria Kincaid at gkincaid@newriver.edu or 304-793-6101.
New River Community and Technical College serves nine counties in southeastern West Virginia from the Greenbrier Valley Campus (Lewisburg), Mercer County Campus (Princeton), Nicholas County Campus (Summersville), and Raleigh County Campus (Beaver/Beckley).
