<h1><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-32989" src="https:\/\/mountainmedianews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2018\/05\/New-River-CTC-and-Glenville-State-College-sign-guaranteed-admission-agreement.jpg" alt="" width="800" height="533" \/>New River Community and Technical College and Glenville State College signed an agreement last week that will make it easier for students who earn an associate degree to earn their bachelor\u2019s degree.<\/h1>\r\nUnder the new agreement, New River CTC students who maintain at least a 2.0 grade point average (GPA) are guaranteed admission to Glenville State. Students transferring must meet the same prerequisites, GPA and other admission criteria when applying to Glenville State programs. The two institutions will work collaboratively to admit students and facilitate the process of admissions.\r\n\r\nThe agreement becomes effective immediately.\r\n\r\n\u201cNew River CTC is committed to providing accessible, affordable, quality education to our region,\u201d New River CTC President Dr. L. Marshall Washington said. \u201cThis agreement makes the process of continuing education easier for our students and supports our mission by giving students another opportunity to earn a bachelor\u2019s degree close to where they live and work.\u201d\r\n\r\n\u201cThis agreement symbolizes a shared and renewed attitude of cooperation and collaboration that will benefit all of West Virginia. We see this agreement as only a beginning of future partnering opportunity,\u201d Glenville State President Dr. Tracy Pellett said.\r\n\r\nThe two schools have a history of cooperation in southern West Virginia serving students in Nicholas County.\r\n\r\nNew River Community and Technical College serves nine counties in southeastern West Virginia from the Greenbrier Valley Campus (Lewisburg), Mercer County Campus (Princeton), Nicholas County Campus (Summersville) and Raleigh County Campus (Beaver\/Beckley).
