Greenbrier Valley Theatre (GVT) is excitedly awaiting the fall education classes, GVTots 1 (age 5-6) and 2 (age 7-8), GVTweens (age 9-11), GVTeens (age 12-18) and the year-long GVTeen Conservatory (age 14-18).

Enrollment for fall classes begins Sept. 4 from 4-7 p.m. in GVT’s Front Space and closes Sept. 9. You can also register for classes by contacting Education Director Courtney Susman.
GVTots 1 and 2, GVTweens and GVTeens classes are for one semester at a time, taking place in the fall and the spring.
The GVTeen Conservatory is a year-round program on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:15 to 6:45 p.m. for teens dedicated to studying the techniques of theatrical performance in a more intensive format. This year the conservatory class will study various styles of theatre, including Ancient Greek Theatre, Elizabethan Theatre, Contemporary and many more, led by professional actors. Admittance to this program is by audition only. Auditions for the Conservatory are Sept. 2 from 4-9 p.m.
“GVT definitely made me more confident in myself and has been a really great creative and stress outlet for me,” Sarah Stacy, a GVTeens, student said.
After-school classes will begin Sept. 14 and continue until Dec. 16 on the following schedule:
Monday classes
• Tweens 4-5 p.m.
• Conservatory 5:15-6:45 p.m.
Tuesday classes
• Tots 1 4-5 p.m.
• Tots 2 5:15-6:15 p.m.
Wednesday classes
• Teens 4-5 p.m.
• Conservatory 5:15-6:45 p.m.

“It has been like a second home and a second family,” said Stacy.
Tuition for these classes is $90 ($125 for Conservatory) per semester or $170 ($240 for Conservatory) for both fall and spring semesters, if registering to the take full year of classes. Tuition for each additional child in the same family is $75 per semester. Need-based scholarships are available.
For scholarship applications, to register, to schedule an audition, or for any other information regarding the education programs, contact courtney@gvtheatre.org or call the Education Office at 304-645-3838 ext. 111.
