White Sulphur Springs-Missy Cole, 50, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017, after battling an extended illness.
She was born on May 5, 1967, in West Carollton, OH, before moving to Alvon, WV.
Missy had a servant’s selfless heart and would put the needs of others before herself throughout her life. Missy was very passionate about cooking and she used this talent to serve those around her. Those affected the most by this love was the youth in the WSS area. Missy was an avid WSS Falcon fan. She helped coordinate countless football seasons for the youth in WSS as the Area Director. She also assisted as part of the South Eastern Youth Football League. In addition to all that, she was a volunteer for the WSS Rescue Squad. Missy’s heart to serve and help came from her faith in Jesus Christ. Missy was an active member at The Redemption Center in WSS. She loved nothing more than to be surrounded by her church family and fellowship. Missy’s faith touched all those she came into contact with.
Missy was preceded in death by her mother, Lois Smith Cox.
She is survived by her father, Lloyd Cox of WSS; her husband of 20 years, Mike Cole and her children, Summer and Michael at home; brother, David Cox of WSS; and sister, Shellina Gray of Beckley; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, and great-nephews and great-nieces.
Services were held Monday, Oct. 9, at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home, White Sulphur Springs, where her pastor, Rev. Garrett Bostic officiated. Friends called at the funeral home before the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home to help offset expenses.
