On Monday, Aug. 7, the Lewisburg Police Department announced that they were actively investigating a missing person, Jarred David Shultz, 39, of Barboursville, after he was reported missing by a friend at 2:05 a.m. on Aug. 6.
“We were informed that Mr. Shultz had been visiting the Lewisburg area to attend a golf tournament and that he was last seen at approximately 11:40 p.m. in the area of Coleman Drive in Lewisburg,” stated the release.
Hours later, police reported that a deceased body of a male believed to be Mr. Shultz was located “in a wooded area near I-64 and Route 219 in Lewisburg.”
The released noted, “There is no foul play suspected in this incident at this time. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Mr. Shultz family and friends in this very difficult time.”
