Callaghan, VA-Michael Wallace “Mick” Morgan, also known as “Green,” 78, passed away Sunday, Jan. 12, 2020.
Born Nov. 16, 1941, at Ronceverte, he was the son of the late Joseph Edward and Edith Marie Bennett Morgan. Mick was a loving father and will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He was most happy when he was on a mountain or in the woods with his hunting buddies.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Morgan and a grandson, Brandon Wilson.
He is survived by three daughters, Tammy Morgan of West Columbia, WV, Tonya Coleman (Rick Sr.) of White Sulphur Springs, and Edith Wade of Sinks Grove; sister, Joyce Morgan of Ronceverte; brothers, Gary Morgan (Priscilla) of Staunton, VA, and Phil Morgan of Ronceverte; grandsons, Mickey Blankenship, Ricky Coleman Jr. (Tiffany) and Cole Wade; granddaughters, Audra Rue, Adrian Spitz, Jessica Vandall (Eugene), Alisha Vance (Clayton), Jordan Morgan, Abby, Hannah and Morgan Wade; great-grandchildren, Zachariah and Bryce Vance, Hayden, Aubrey and Bentley Morgan, Isaiah, Alexus, Lillian, Emma and Davina Coleman, Nirvona, Mercede, Landyn, Icyss and Timber Vandall; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held Sunday, Jan. 19, at the Greenbrier Baptist Church, Morgan Hollow Road, Ronceverte, where his nephew Johnathan Morgan officiated. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Visitation was Saturday evening, Jan. 18, at the Morgan Funeral Home, Lewisburg.
Ricky “Hammer” Coleman, Ryan “Bign” Wilhelm, Gary “Coon Skinner” Wilhelm, David “Sheep Hearder” Shoemaker, Richard “Quick” Anderson, Mark Honaker, Erskin “Erk” Greys and David “White” Wickline will serve as pallbearers. Charlie “Farmer” McNeil, Mack “Mack” Preston and Larry “One Shot” Bartley will be honorary pallbearers.
