Asbury-Michael Edwin Patterson, 64, passed away Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023, at his home in Asbury after a long battle with cancer.

Born in 1958, he was the son of the late Curtis Patterson (Bonnie) of Sam Black, and Marian Bowden (Roy) of Frankford.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his sister, Sherry Lynn Wilfong and his nephews Jason Fleshman and Justin Wilfong all of Frankford; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry T Judy, Trout; and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clive Patterson of Clintonville.

Michael was a faithful member of the Sewell Valley Baptist Church in Rainelle.

Survivors include Mike’s uncle and best friend throughout his life, Randall K. Judy and Sherry Judy of Williamsburg, WV. Randy spent many hours on the road and in treatments with Mike during his long struggle with his treatments in Morgantown. Mike is survived by his niece, Christi Fleshman of Frankford; and his brother-in-law, Richard Wilfong of Frankford; and many, many cousins and family friends. Mike is also survived by his longtime special friend, Debbie Haynes.

It was Mike’s wish to be cremated. This spring, Mike’s favorite time of year, the family will have a memorial service to celebrate Mike’s love for the outdoors, fishing, and golf.

In lieu of flowers, Mike has asked that anyone wishing to send flowers, to consider donating to the American Cancer Society or the American Wildlife Foundation. Both foundations aligned with his interests and beliefs.

Online guestbook may be signed at www.morganfh.net. Arrangements by Morgan Funeral Home, Lewisburg, WV.
