Max Powell Harrah

Lewisburg-Max Powell Harrah, 79, passed away Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center.

Born Apr. 7, 1943, in Asbury, the son of the late John Milton “Mitt” Harrah and Elsie Vivian Hanna Harrah.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Patty Mall Harrah, and Margie Phyllis Linn.

Survivors include his children, Michael Harrah (Jennifer) of Asbury, and Melissa Garrett (Mike) of Roanoke, VA; brothers, Pat Harrah of Covington, VA, and Paul Harrah (Arlene) of Arizona; grandchildren, Stephanie, Sydnie, Jaime, Shannon, Holly, Ian and Maddy; great-grandchildren, Mariah and Dylan; and several nieces, and nephews.

Funeral service was held Saturday, Dec. 17, at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel where Rev. Ray Propps officiated. Burial followed in the Asbury Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation was Friday evening, Dec. 16, at the funeral home.
