Mavis Dunbar Lippincott

Riverside, NJ-Mavis Dunbar Lippincott, 80, of Riverside, passed away Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018, from the result of a massive stroke.

She was born and raised near Union, graduated from Union High School in 1956, and moved to New Jersey in 1958.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Everette and Cordelia Dunbar, brother, Fred Raymond Dunbar, two brothers-in-law, Eddie LaFon and Bill Ford and ex-husband, Edward Lippincott.

Surviving her in New Jersey are son, Kent Lippincott; daughter, Karen (Randy) McConnell; granddaughters Arnie, Lora, and Jamie McConnell, and Misty (Tom) Pofahl and four great-grandchildren, Makenziy, Samuel, Sonny, and Luke Pofahl.

Survivors in West Virginia include brothers Norval (Jenny), Donald (Connie), and Ronald (Velleda); sisters, Rachel LaFon (Bill) Dreher, Alma Bonner (Charlie) Hoke, Wanda Ford, Mildred Bennett, Eleanor (Chester) Terry; sister-in-law, Doris Dunbar; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, with visitation at 1 p.m. at Mt. Prospect Baptist Church, Union, about one block up Knobs Road.
