Area Catholic churches have announced the Mass schedule for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in the Greenbrier Valley and Alleghany Highlands, according to an announcement by Perk Berry, grand knight of the Alleghany Highlands Council 8689 Knights of Columbus.
Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve will be celebrated at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Walnut Street at WV 63, Ronceverte, with the pre-Mass concert beginning at 11:30 p.m. Dec. 24 and traditional Midnight Mass at 12:01 a.m. Music will be provided by the St. Catherine’s Choir which is also known as the “Hymns and Hers.” St. Catherine’s will also have Mass Christmas Day at 11 a.m.
St. Charles Borromeo Church on US 60 West opposite The Greenbrier Clinic in White Sulphur Springs, will celebrate Mass Christmas Eve at 5 p.m. with music provided by “The Greenbrier Spring Singers,” beginning at 4:30 p.m. Christmas Day Mass at St. Charles Borromeo will be at 9 a.m.
Sacred Heart Church in Rainelle will celebrate Christmas Eve Mass at 5:30 p.m. while St. Mary’s of the Greenbrier Mission on WV 3 in Alderson will hold a Christmas Day Mass 11 a.m. St. Patrick’s Church in downtown Hinton will have Mass on Christmas Eve at 8 p.m. and 9 a.m. Christmas Day.
The Shrine of the Sacred Heart on Shady Lane, just above The Homestead in Hot Springs, Va., will have Christmas Eve Masses at 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. and Christmas Day Masses 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Masses are also scheduled for Sacred Heart Church on Main Street in Covington, St. Joseph’s Church, Clifton Forge; St. John Neumann Church, Marlinton; St. Bernard Church, Snowshoe; and St. Mark’s Church, Bartow.
The public is invited to join the Catholics of the Greenbrier Valley and Alleghany Highlands for any of these special Christmas worship services, Berry noted.
