Mary Margaret Sampson

Fairlea-Mary Margaret Sampson passed away Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, at Greenbrier Manor in Fairlea.

She was born in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late William Andrew and Mary Thelma Stanton Napier.

Margaret, as she was known, provided domestic help to several families in the Lewisburg area. Also, she worked at Greenbrier Manor when it first opened.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Theodore A. Hanson and by her second husband, Earl Sampson. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Bill, George, Gene, Jessie, Charlie and Bobby Napier and sister, Ruby Sheppard.

Margaret is survived by her sons, Jerry (Debbie) Hanson, Gary (Sue) Hanson and Larry Hanson; daughter, Peggy (Lou) Hoke; sisters, Myra Wade, Beulah Gillenwater, Sarah Fitzwater, Shirley McClung and Beatrice Pullis; and brothers, Wallace and Tommy Napier.

She also leaves behind six grandchildren, Paul Hoke, Lee Anne Hoke, Brian Hanson, Linnie Hughes, Lindsey and Kimberly Hanson; one great-granddaughter; one great-great-granddaughter; as well as many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.

Her funeral service was held Monday, Aug. 3, at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg where Pastor Rick Brown of the Lewisburg United Methodist Church officiated. Burial followed in Rosewood Cemetery, Lewisburg.

The family received friends on Sunday evening, Aug. 2, at the funeral home.
