Mary Catherine Hall

Frankford – Mary Catherine Hall (Vandervort) 94, departed this earth on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at the Seneca Trail Healthcare in Fairlea, WV.
She was formerly from Prince Frederick, MD. Born Nov. 4, 1928, in Renick, to the late Dr. Madison King and Willie Ann Boggs Vandervort. She was the oldest girl of 7 children and last surviving, Marvin, Austin, June, Donald, Nina Blumberg and Helen Callison all preceded her in death.
She was married in 1955 to the late Thomas Hutchins Hall, Sr. of Prince Frederick, MD.
She worked at The Greenbrier Hotel as a telephone operator in White Sulphur Springs, then for C & P Telephone in Baltimore, then retired from the A & P Grocery Store, in Glen Burnie, MD in 1984. She was a very hard working woman, devoted to her family. She enjoyed baking, cooking and canning food from her garden. She loved to entertain at Holiday’s with her family. She loved her many pets over the years, especially Teddy.
She had five children; Vicki Whitt of Lewisburg, Jerry Hoover (wife Paula) of Frankford, Mary Catherine Bloom of Severn, MD, Thomas Hutchins Hall, and Cynthia Marlene Shields and husband Hal L. Shields from Frankford; nine grandchildren, Pamela Ooten, Annie Hoover DeMoss, Heather Whitt, Tammy Whitt Barrett, Jason Booker, Joseph Thomas Bloom, Marvin Edward Bloom, Catherine V. Prola, and Sarah Marie Bloom; 18 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Hall will be held Saturday, Aug. 5, at 2 p.m. at the residence (189 Buchannan Street, Frankford, WV 24938).
