Mary A. Bonifacio Vest

Lewisburg-Mary A. Bonifacio Vest, 71, passed away Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center of a short illness.

She was born Dec. 15, 1943, at Mount Hope, a daughter of the late Paul Rudolph and Frances Mae Neighbors Bonifacio.

Mary was of the protestant faith and was a retired bookkeeper with Thompson Tires & Service.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Vest; granddaughter, Mary Beth Thompson; two sisters, Pauline Bonifacio Sampson and Brenda Bonifacio Godbey; three half-sisters, Margaret Plint, Juanita Rader and Dorothy Stewart; and half-brother, Marvin Vernon.

Those left to cherish her memory are: daughter, Shari Grove (Buck) of Ronceverte; granddaughter, Katie Windon (Jason) of Ronceverte; two great-grandchildren, Noah and Aleeah; four step-sons, Eugene Vest (Jean), Mark Vest (Debbie), Harry Vest (Cay) and Michael Vest; sister, Barbara Thomas of Daniels; half-sister, Viola Sasser of Fayetteville, NC; a very special friend, Marty Hoyt of Lewisburg; several step-grandchildren, several step-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and her friends and neighbors at Tabor Towers in Lewisburg.

Per her wishes, her body has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in honor of her granddaughter, Beth.
