Marketing expert Kara Gray to speak at New River CTC Oct. 21-22

Today’s business environment is more complex than ever.
If you’re scrambling to keep up with the day-to-day hustle and bustle of marketing to new customers, you’ll want to hear from one of the state’s leading experts at New River Community and Technical College on Oct. 21 and 22.
Kara Gray, marketing consultant and owner of New Horizon Consulting in Wheeling, is a public relations strategist, marketer, and copywriter specializing in high-tech and emerging technology, startups, and corporate communications. She has worked extensively in West Virginia, with international clients, and top public relations firms.
She will lead a workshop “Controlling the Chaos: How to Achieve Work/Life Balance Without Losing Your Mind” from 6 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 21 at New River CTC’s Raleigh County Campus. The cost of the workshop is $15 with refreshments included.
In this candid conversation, she will talk about how being “super busy” negatively affects your health and relationships and some simple strategies for getting everything a little more under control. Participants will have the opportunity to swap stories, share tips, and learn from each other in order to stop being a victim of chaos and instead orchestrate our lives like master conductors.
Gray also will be the keynote speaker at the “Marketing Makeover: Tactics That Really Work” conference from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 22. Topics will include social media, marketing to a lender, product development and target marketing. The conference will open with registration at the Erma Byrd Higher Education Center. Lunch, breakout sessions, and a business-to-business expo will be held at New River CTC. The cost of the conference is $49. The cost to showcase your business at the expo is $10.
These events are sponsored by New River Community and Technical College’s Office of Workforce, Technical, and Community Education, BB&T, New River Gorge Regional Development Authority, and Beckley-Raleigh Chamber of Commerce.
For more information or to register, contact Tennis Parrish at 304-929-1041 or tparrish@newriver.edu.
New River Community and Technical College serves nine counties in southeastern West Virginia from the Greenbrier Valley Campus (Lewisburg), Mercer County Campus (Princeton), Nicholas County Campus (Summersville), and Raleigh County Campus (Beaver/Beckley).
