Marie Dunn Reynolds, 103, passed peacefully on Mar. 21, 2026. She was born on Mar. 10, 1923 to the late Edna and Rush Dunn. A faithful disciple of Christ, Marie personified service to others and always had a gentle, loving spirit to everyone.

During World War II, Marie went to Washington, DC to answer her nation’s call by serving with the Military Intelligence Division of the War Department to aid in deciphering enemy codes. Marie also volunteered at Walter Reed National Center, serving hundreds of hours caring for injured soldiers during her time in Washington.

Marie’s devotion to Clifton Presbyterian Church included serving as the second-ever woman deacon, elder of the church, chair of the Women’s Circle, and many ministries to serve those in need. She continued her service to her community by working at the West Virginia Legal Services with those who were most vulnerable.

Marie loved and served her family as a faithful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She married the love of her life, the late Robert Reynolds in 1946.

She is survived by her two loving children, Sherry (the late Jack McCoy), of Highpoint NC, and Bobby (Erica Reynolds) of Huntersville NC; four grandchildren, Kevin (Tonya McCoy), Krista Stafford, Courtney (Joe Hill) and Dalton (Lindsay Reynolds); five great-grandchildren, and sister Mary Anna Harvey, along with many nieces, nephews, and many friends and family whom are left to cherish her memory. She was predeceased by her late sister Virginia McClung.

The family will host a celebration of life on Saturday, Mar. 28, at Clifton Presbyterian Church in Maxwelton, WV, where she attended and served faithfully for nine decades.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. followed by service and reception at 2 p.m.
