Marguerite Lewis Wyatt, 93, of Lewisburg passed away peacefully on Friday evening, May 30, 2025 at the Seneca Trail Health Center where she had resided for the last two years. Born Oct. 21, 1931, in Friars Hill, WV, she was the daughter of Rev. Calvin Lewis and Elizabeth Bryant Lewis.

Marguerite attended Williamsburg Schools and graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1949. On Oct. 12, 1951, she married the love of her life Robert Houston Wyatt of Williamsburg. They were blessed in 1953 with their first son Robert Michael Wyatt. Several years later, they left the Greenbrier Valley and moved to Maryland. In 1957, they were blessed with their second son, Joseph Allen Wyatt.

In 1982, after their sons were grown, they returned to the Greenbrier Valley. Bob, Marguerite, and Mike became the owners of Wyatt Home Center (an Ace Hardware Store) in downtown Lewisburg. They were active in the Merchants Association and worked hard to promote business in town.

As the daughter of a Methodist minister, Marguerite was very active in church. She was a member of the Lewisburg United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women and Circle 2. She was also a member of the Lewisburg Lioness Club.

God blessed Marguerite with an unbelievable talent. Any song she heard, she could play by ear on the piano. She shared this talent throughout her life in schools, churches, meetings, nursing homes, funerals, and weddings. When she moved to the Seneca Trail Health Center, she played for the residents and staff. They loved it. They would call out a song to her and as long as she knew it she would play it. The day before she died, she was at her piano playing for them.

Marguerite was proceeded in death by her parents and her husband Bob in 2011. Her siblings, Arlene Knicely, John Lewis and wife Mabel, James Lewis and wife Thelma, Jack Lewis and wife Jean, and a nephew who was raised like a brother David Hawks and wife Penny. Her infant grandson William Alvin Wyatt and her infant great-granddaughter Grier Ellen Wyatt.

She is survived by her sons, Mike Wyatt and wife Jeanie of Lewisburg, and Joe Wyatt and wife Cheryl of Terra Alta, and Ocean City, MD; Her grandchildren Robbie Wyatt and Megan of Philippi, WV, Britany Bozick and Carl of Ocean City, MD, Susie Wyatt and Jonathan of Gap Mills, WV, Taylor Himes and Jason of Fairmont, WV, Amy Mitchin and Joe of Morgantown, WV; Her great-grandchildren Sydney, Abigail, Rhett, Hadley, Grace, Ellie, Luke, Reagan and Jaycee; her brother-in-law Terrance Knicely of Friars Hill, and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Seneca Trail Health Center for the wonderful care they provided Marguerite.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM on Sunday, June 8 at the Lewisburg United Methodist Church. Visitation will begin at 2:00. Burial will follow at Rosewood Cemetery in Lewisburg, WV.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons Robbie Wyatt, Carl Bozick, Jonathan Haynes, Jason Himes, Joe Mitchin and Chris Hulmes.
