Margaret Louise Harrah Shelton

Alderson-Margaret Louise Harrah Shelton, 92, passed away Tuesday, Apr. 21, 2015, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, Fairlea, following a long illness.

Born Nov. 1, 1922, at Asbury, she was the daughter of the late Basil and Josephine Burdette Harrah.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Forrest Henry Shelton; two daughters, Anna “Joanne” Shelton Smith and Barbara June Shelton; five brothers, James, Robert, John, William, and Frank Harrah; two sisters, Gloria Harrah and Ruth Harrah Sisk; and great-grandson, Timothy Shelton Kling.

Mrs. Shelton was a member of the Old Greenbrier Baptist Church in Alderson where she taught Sunday school classes for several years.

Survivors include: three daughters, Carol Godby of Beaver, Anita Russell of Sacramento, CA, and Linda Housel of Berkeley Springs; two sisters, Virginia Frances Harrah and Rose Harrah Weaver; four granddaughters, Charlotte Tobin, Laura Mozeleski, Stephanie Grover, and Stacie Kling; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Apr. 25, at the Old Greenbrier Baptist Church, Alderson, where the Rev. Gary Baker officiated. Burial was in The End of the Trail Cemetery, Clintonville.

Friends called Saturday at the church before the service.

Family and friends served as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Old Greenbrier Baptist Church, P.O. Box 456, Alderson, WV 24910.

Arrangements by Lobban Funeral Home, Alderson.
