On Monday, Mar. 11, a traffic stop was conducted by Deputy Herman Rodriguez of the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department.
Controlled substances were found inside the vehicle during a subsequent search and the substance would test positive for fentanyl. Follow up investigation would indicate the individual responsible for the delivery of that controlled substance.
A warrant for delivery of a controlled substance was obtained for James Matthew Walkup, 47, of Greenbrier County. He was arrested pursuant to the warrant on Tuesday, Mar. 12, and transported to the Southern Regional Jail in Beaver, WV.
Walkup had previously been arrested for delivery of a controlled substance in January of 2024 and was out on bond for that offense at the time of his arrest on Mar. 12.
Deputy Rodriguez is the investigating officer.
