At a reception following their annual board meeting on Sept. 15, the Main Street Ronceverte Board of Directors acknowledged the hard work of outgoing officers and recognized the contributions that the board and volunteers made to the organization during the past year. They also honored the Ronceverte recipients of the 2014 Governor’s Main Street Recognition awards. The Governor’s awards will be presented in Charleston in June 2015 at a reception attended by Main Street programs and volunteers from throughout the state. The recipients of the awards and the categories are as follows:

• Ronceverte Volunteer of the Year: Betty Ralston,

• Ronceverte Business of the Year: Ronceverte Feed Store,

• Ronceverte Public Official of the Year: Sonny Zimmerman, and

• Board Member of the Year: Sherry McCormick- Hawkins.

We not only applaud the efforts of these award recipients, but we truly appreciate their tireless efforts to improve the quality of life and strengthen the business community. We hope that you will join us in congratulating them on their accomplishments. Volunteers are a critical part of revitalizing the Ronceverte community and we are always looking for people who are interested in volunteering with any of our ongoing projects whether in person or by financial donation. You can become a supporter of Main Street’s 1882 Society.

For more information about the Main Street Ronceverte Program, please call 304-647-3140 or visit our website at www.mainstreetronceverte.com.
