Williamsburg-Mabel McMillion Hedrick, 92, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by her family early Friday morning, Dec. 4, 2015, after a long illness.
Mabel was born Jan. 18, 1923, in Trout, WV, to the late Foster Nathan and Edna Lillian McDowell McMillion.
She was a homemaker and a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, and was a member of the Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Brian Keith Hedrick; sister, Madelyn Judy; and three brothers, Harold “Bud” McMillion, Garland McMillion and Robert Edwin McMillion.
Survivors include: her husband of 69 years, Elmer Hedrick, Jr.; seven sons, David Hedrick (Stella) of Cornstalk, Bill Hedrick (Connie) of Frankford, Barry Hedrick (Drema) of Lewisburg, Rodger Hedrick (Debbie), Steve Hedrick (Judy), Rick Hedrick (Tina) and Gary Hedrick (Laurie) all of Williamsburg; and sister, Mildred Kessler of Lewes, DE. She was a beloved grandmother of 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 7, at Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church at Williamsburg, where Pastor Denver Tiller officiated. Entombment followed in Wallace Memorial Mausoleum at Clintonville.
Visitation was held Sunday evening, Dec. 6, at the church.
Pallbearers were her grandsons, Chris, J.R., Jason, Justin, Travis, Todd, Douglas, Jonathan and Jacob Hedrick.
